iSnipe is the original ballistics calculator for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Based on the excellent GNU Exterior Ballistics Library, iSnipe generates military grade 3-DOF solutions to small arms trajectories, including corrections for Pitch, Yaw, Atmospheric Conditions, Coriolis/Eötvös Effect and Spin Drift.
Simply put, a ballistics computer is a calculator used to predict a bullets path/energy/wind drift/etc… For shooting enthusiasts this means the ability to pre-determine how, where and at what speeds your bullets will fly, before you even open your gun safe.
Created with ease of use in mind, iSnipe is the perfect companion to Military/Law-Enforcement Officers, Competition Shooters and Gun Aficionados alike. With all the features you'd expect from a mobile, ballistics calculator including the ability to save and load ammo/firearm/shooting range profiles, automatic saving of form values, combined with all the features you'd expect from an integrated iPhone app, there is no better way to get on target every time.

I got this app a couple months ago for an upcoming prairie dog safari. I leave for Wyo. later this week and look forward to giving it a workout. I have the loads for all 5 of my guns saved and ready. Took me a bit to figure it all out, but once I did it's pretty simple to use.
Easy to use
Great app
Just what i need when i need it. Great app!!
So far the app is very accurate. I have only used for two 22's and a17 hmr. Soon I will test it With my 308.
Excellent but the data for gov't issue is horribly inaccurate. For example the m-852 at 500 yards does NOT drop 107"'s. Probably the most difficult part of a shooting sequence is determining the actual drag function of a bullet. This app gives excellent cross referencing to a multitude of factory loads for those who load to match factory specifications. Reading wind still requires a degree of experience, however this is the best civilian bullet trajectory app I have thus far used.
Works well. Has a large bank of preloaded ballistics. Well worth the money
Crashed when trying to set angle. Not formatted for iPhone 5 screen.
Love it! Does everything you would expect.
Awesome app, I bought the engine upgrade for Spin drift/ Coriolis and its "dead on"....within 1/8 MOA at range.
This is a great app. I do wish they would give an adjusted range to target based on angle, for use with scopes that have ranges pre-set, i.e. Leupold CDS.
Great app very accurate shot out too 700 yards was dead on!!!
Used this app at a swat sniper class. Shot out to 500 yards and the app calculations were right on. If you are on the fence this app is worth it!!
Very useful both on stand and on range. Tons of data. Very user friendly. Great job!
This app has increased my grouping to 1.5 moa at 150 yds.
Great app whether I am at the range or in the field!
I like this app. It's quick, it's user-friendly, it seems to be accurate. It's easy to understand. You don't have to be a mathematic genius to input the necessary data to get good output. THE ONLY THING MISSING is to be able to change your target type and target size, and scope magnification. This would give you a more accurate representation to match what you're actually seeing, for more optimum shot placement. The weak point in this app is that the DOPE it gives you is a generic NRA style paper bullseye of unknown scale... The matches I shoot, are mostly steel, and steel targets vary by size and shape. It should be easy to update this app with a selection of common targets of different sizes.
Get it, play with it and try to prove it wrong. When you do, check your math or yourself cause you did something wrong. Always check against your weapon but balls on accurate.
Great app. Extremely handy and comparable to high dollar programs.
Easy to use. As accurate as I need. Distance calculator I find works ver good with my iPod touch. Providing you have a known dimension for comparison. Will not take the place of a range finder but works in a pinch.
The only cartridge I would add is the .408 cheytec
I've been unofficially train to join the 200 club and this app is priceless when trying to find the off target shots and bring the back in the correct direction. No guess work.
Great for at the range or long range plinking
Very good tool and worth every penny
I have been using iSnipe for over a year now and every outing I learn more about the software by just playing with it. I did purchase the engine upgrade but to date have only used the spindrift features. I normally do not use the wind values as my bible as wind conditions are always changing but I do reference back to it after the shots and it is usually close, given the guess work that goes into a wind call. Elevation calculations were initially a bit screwy, but I found that as my shooting preparation increased that the given values from iSnipe are now dead on to 1,000 yard shots. Garbage in = garbage out and I found that iSnipes GPS given conditions are usually not accurate enough to put me on target. Keep a Kestrel handy to put in actual atmospherics and elevation for best results. I use published G7 data for ballistic coefficients and have had great results also. Knowing your actual muzzle velocity is crucial to calculating ballistics. If you do not have a chronograph you can adjust the muzzle velocity within iSnipe until the calculations match your real world results on target and now you have a trued MV and ballistic curve for that particular rifle and lot of ammo. Last weekend I took to the range with an 18" Larue Stealth upper'd AR-15 topped with a SWFA 5-20HD shooting handloads of 77g SMK's over Varget at a conservative 2615fps. I input all data as accurately as possible and iSnipe spit out 14.5 Mils of elevation. I made a wind call with the Accuracy First wind formula. Held 2 Mils left and sent the first round. Nearly 2 seconds later I see the splash just left of target but perfect elevation. Second shot correction put shots 2 and 3 right beside each other on steel just left of center. I was very pleased. There are more expensive options out there for ballistic software, but bang-for-the-buck, iSnipe puts me on steel.
So far, app gives me different drop tables than some manufactures' websites. Shouldn't they match? Am I entering data wrong? Take the federal GM308 bthp 168 g table for example. Any feedback is appreciated. Thx
Just get it. It has stepped up my 3 gun game by getting 1st round hits out at 300+
Would it be possible to add Winchester & Remington 308 data ? I can add them individually, but it would be nice them in the list. Maybe even PMC & TulAmmo (223). Other than that.....the App looks awesome !!!
I've owned this app for over a month now and found it very useful. You can use it to back up your own data computations or as a stand alone device to put you on target. For any serious long range shooter, getting this app should be a "no-brainer." Love it.
Simplifies life 4 those without a lot of experience shooting distance. Way simpler than my boyfriend.
The app does everything that you could reasonably ask for.
Great app! I love it! It's a Must have.
Great app. Really like the auto adjustment from G1 to G7. Also the mil-dot holdover, this is something every bench shooter needs.
Is out-#?*!ing-standing!
This app is an amazing shooting app. I love it and it works great!!!
This is a very nice app for anyone that is serious about shooting! Just please update for iPhone 5.
It's great for long range shot's. To a home shotter to a Marksman in days.
Amazing
If you are serious about reloading and ballistics, this is the app for you. Very easy to use.
This App is a very handy tool for any Long Range Shooter....Wether you find yourself accounting for dynamic changes in atmospheric conditions, and/or "range to target", or just a weekend plinker....although I did expect a larger "Factory Ammo" reference than currently available.
This is a solid aid for those who are serious about shot placement. Keep it down range and be safe.
Cool app
Works great when you put all the correct data in.
Terrific product, highly recommended.
Superior to most calculators that I've used for my home PC. Would like to see a few updates on the factory ammo tables, as well as a few new calibers(4.6x30MM), but that is minor. This is a great app that will give you more space in your range bag by eliminating extra devices!
Like the last review. Needs types of rounds updated. 7.62X51? This is what I plink with. Please add.
Great for the cost!
I give it 5 stars. Easy to use. However, I have a safety concern. NATO 7.62 is listed under .308 Winchester as "Government." Since metric ammo is listed as, for example, 6.5 Swede and NOT lumped into .264 Remington but is listed under the 6s, not the 2s, while the pressure differences are not significant, SURELY .30 cal NATO should be listed under the 7s, especially since the pressures between .308 and 7.62 NATO are dangerously different!! My second observation is that the calculated results of the current ".308 Government" loads are WAY off. The BCs indicated need correcting. M80 BC is WAY higher than .1002!!!! Inch drop at 1000 yards is not -9xx, it is more like -38x. The other "govt" load BC listings are also way far off. That being said, the program works well and I reccomend it. A safety issue and glitch in the data base need attention in my opinion.
I used this program in an advanced sniper school and it was very reliable and accurate.
As accurate as one can get. Verified on the range at 560 yds, 13 MOA. Entered on app and it showed 13.08 MOA. Will continue to utilize this app. Maybe add a print function for the tables.
