I can't attach anything
I can't say enough good things about Pocket. I have it set up on my iPhone, iPad and both home and work computers. It's a dream for being able to read articles and look at websites later.
Thank you for making my life easier!
Biggest complaint is that I keep getting logged out on my iPhone and iPad. Trying to quickly save a link means logging in each time. Worked fine on my laptop. Pointless to actually use app since I can't easily save anything anymore. Customer service less than helpful. Multiple emails and 3 weeks later and I still haven't been contacted with a solution.
I love this thing! Great to see an app that doesn't always depend on the Internet. Afterall, how many people have an iPad without 3G/GSM? Probably a lot, so it's nice to use my iPad and iPod with an app that has so much to offer. I would love to see annotation abilities. After all, that's what active reading is all about. This would help greatly so that I wouldn't have to re-read and then annotate in Evernote after I've sent it there. I realize that re-reading is also an active reading strategy, but I simply don't have time for that, which is part of the reason I've downloaded this anyway. Add annotation features, get a 5 star rating!
Just like the dev's name 😀
The developer has sold the company and with it, has lost his moral high ground as well as the validity of arguments like "one-man-business competing with venture capital backed corporations", "clear business model", etc. Let's face it, it was just PR. The app is still good (sort of), but I will be actively researching alternatives. At this point, it's just one of many read later apps, no better than the others.
May2013- I still like this app, but it could be better if they add the ability to make folders that way I could group related articles together. Very convenient. Better than save to PDF app. Good for research or just saving pages for file or read later.
Too often we only vent our spleen in anger. But Pocket is SO good, I wanted to make an effort. I got it for offline reading -- superb! I wanted people to know that if you are in Safari & pick 'copy' then go into Pocket it will ask if you want to save the copied URL in Pocket. This is my new favorite feature for apps that do not allow/provide direct integration with Pocket. I love the tagging feature of stories and the ability to filter on tags. Finally, more apps should also have a web app too; so I can toss things into Pocket from a laptop, synch to my iPhone or iPad and enjoy anytime/anywhere. Five Stars!
I've played around with a few read-it-later type apps before. I have one installed that I use quite a bit. So I really couldn't be bothered to try this one, but I eventually gave in and give it a try. I love it. So far, this is definitely my favorite one of the bunch. Looks great, innovative, sleek and speedy. It has all the features I could ever want and so far it's worked perfectly.
***AGAIN… Each version worse than the last. Why couldn't they leave it alone?!? ***Update They removed the best feature: the feature that set it apart from the competition. They removed the ability to email a beautiful complete version of the article with images automatically included. Very frustrating. First the dumb name change from a great name that made sense (Read it Later) to a lame name that means nothing. Pocket??? Everything on a smartphone fits in my pocket. Just dumb. Then the removal of the best feature. It's so puzzling when great companies or products get worse with time. Why??? ***Original review: One of my favorite apps. Much better than instapaper. I really don't understand why instapaper gets all the attention. Really, it's no competition.
Shares with other apps and does PDF too.
This app is stuck! It seems like it has been more than a week I have been trying unsuccessfully to update it. It never finishes up and it is just stuck and useless!
Great app, but still crashing on iPad mini after latest couple updates. As soon as articles start downloading, the app crashes. Please fix
Great, but I see more unreasonable blank space on the side of article. Font of article's contents looks really ugly. Give us option.
This app is great. Pocket easily syncs on my laptop, iPad and iPhone, which is quite convenient.
Every update on the iphone 4s crashes my phone. Dont install it! Cant even uninstall it now. Crap!!!!
Love this app; new update fixes problem where some random articles that should load wouldn't.
Love nearly everything about the app! I just wish there was another way to add links.. maybe an "Add" button where I could click that and paste a URL in, instead of only being able to copy and then add.. Otherwise, everything's good!
I've searched the entire App Store, and this is the best app for saving web pages for later. You can even save them while your reading in safari!!! How cool is that! Keep up the good work!!
What an absolutely ridiculous decision to leave that option out. Is Google paying you for redirecting all link traffic to their crappy Chrome for iOS browser?
In offline mode, if your finger accidentally brushes against the "checkmark" button, the item is deleted from your device and you can't get it back without reconnecting to the internet, and even then, you can't move the item from the "archive" back into the active list.
Love it!
First app review ever. This thing stinks. The directions are bad. Spent half hour trying to follow the directions.
After the recent update, the email article view feature was removed. Send to Evernote crashes.
should be have multiuser ( I think every one have 1 or 2 account ) so how we can switch between up 2 account.
Whenever i Try to search up tags, the keyboard won't show.
The old name for this app, Read It Later, really describes what it does. Almost anything you come across on the web in a browser or in many apps can be saved for offline reading from your pocket. Works well and syncs perfectly between platforms. Instapaper may have pioneered this type of app but pocket has perfected it. Give it a try and you will likely wonder how you got along without it.
My go to app for saving stuff on one device and consuming it later on another one. Love the Feedly integration.
:D
It works on my kindle fire HD but not my iPod.
Open in Safari. Open in Safari. Open in Safari. Open In Safari Here's a dapper idea - maybe we could open a link in some kind of exploratory, internety conveyance? Whatever shall we call this pop-up cyber-menu option?
Now I need a new update that let's me update. Please fix! This is a daily app I use!
For the best way possible bookmark everything you wanted to 'read later' -- Pocket.
I can't imagine not having this app on my iDevices (and in my PC's browser too).
Thank you for fixing sharing button. But now I have another complaint - where does the badge is? Why have you removed it?
But..how about a way to easily manage the cache? Killing my storage space.
Great
This app freezes when using the page flipper while reading articles. Support page says delete and reinstall. Didn't work. Too bad, because I like the app a lot when it works.
buy it
I'm really liking Pocket - not only when I'm traveling so I can capture (esoecialky longer articles) to read later, but also just in general because it typically renders better for reading than the web original.
I don't use this app much, but I still find it silly that there is STILL no way to rename a webpage you've added. Naming your file requires you to use your email to send it to the app (which is pretty tedious), and even then, you can't change its name later. And then there is no proper folder system for sorting the pages. Come on developers, these kinds of things are a given!
Can't send article to friends--their anniversary feature causes app to crash. It's absurd you cannot rename articles. Fix this and review will be updated.
The minimalist interface and article view are beautiful. I would otherwise award five stars, but the app (and the Pocket service itself) lacks a function to rename saved articles. Sometimes the parser identifies the correct title but sometimes it uses the URL or the name of the website. This gets pretty annoying if you save several articles from the same site. Please fix this!
After latest update i can no longer copy a url from clipboard to pocket.
Every time I open the app it crashes - I haven't been able to use it at all. Finally just deleted.
This is a formerly five star app in my book, as of this most recent release. I regularly emailed the full article view, as recipients were far more likely to read the article if it was immediately visible in their email client, rather than hidden behind a URL, as it is now. Those of you that don't depend on email may still regard this as a five star app, but I'm very disappointed.
I wish it add a way to organize the information into sections or something, but this is just a minor issue. A great alternative to bookmarking pages--I can open up Pocket on any device, and see all the pages organized in one place. One of my favorite apps!
Use it almost daily, love the clean look and ease to use!
ability to Email Full text of an article.....
