this is a great app but needs work. Could you guys Please bring back the option where you tap the Shazam logo and it stops listening and tries to identify the song right away. I hate how you have to wait for the thing to keep listening even when the song is over. PLEASE FIX

I used to love this app. With the latest update, Lyric play never comes up and it takes a long time to tag. Still a great app, but updates are making it worse, not better.

Would have been five stars but app crashes a lot especially when trying to use lyric play...

Lyric play doesn't show up. Takes forever to tag a song. Just went downhill.

Used to be great. Haven't gotten a correct answer in over a week??? Keeps popping up Indy bands that aren't in any way even similar to what I'm trying to tag??? Whaaaa

This is how you ruin an app. This used to be an incredibly useful app; able to identify a huge number of songs. No more! Now the Shazam algorithm is rife with errors, and worse, it's filled with ads and results that identify TV shows. No one, anywhere, ever needs an app to identify TV shows. It's redundant and useless information. Shazam was once useful at identifying music. Hopefully they will aspire to return to that function in the future. Otherwise there is no reason to download this failed program.

After this last update every time I try using the app it crashes. Please hurry up and fix!!

Now that Shazam is tagging TV shows, I can no longer identify the music playing in TV commercials. It tells me the show I'm watching, which it gets right, and the music in the show, which it seems to get wrong. The music in the commercial? Forget it. Shazam apparently thinks I don't need to know about that. I'm so disappointed. I already know what TV show I'm watching, and if I want information on that I can just hit the button on my FIOS remote - why would I want to grab my phone and start Shazam? I just tried to tag the music from an ad that played before a video on a Web site - it told me I was watching some reality show. Come on, really? I used to pull my phone out just to show people Shazam because it was just so cool. Now I'm trying out Soundcloud. Nice going, Shazam.

Crashes back to home screen when LyricPlay is used. Never happened until the update!!! Please fix!!!

Every time lyric play is tapped the app crashes. Please update.

I've used this app a few times now and there are hardly any songs that have lyric play

Great App, please make it iPad supported without additional charge. It currently works with iPad; but is not optimized for it.

Used to be a really great app up until the new update that now your required to have iOS6 or you can't use it. Well wasted money now... Deleted.😡😡😡😡

I agree with a previous post re: difficult to tell if it's listening to a song or not and it's slow. Way back when I had the "free" version of this app, it was much better. I gave it 1 star because that was required to post my review

The one thing that drives me crazy with this version of Shazam is there's nothing to distinguish easily between the "Touch to Shazam" button and whether it's listening or not. You think it's listening but it's not. Or is it? They both are identical! I get that this interface is in love with blue, navy, ocean, sky, and every other blue color there is...but it would be nice if the listening function would turn orange, yellow, or something that easily indicates "I'm listening". By the time you realize it's not listening at all (remember, they look the same!) the song's gone and you're SOOL.

I've had this app on my phones for the last 4 years, and it continuously gets better. Can't see why somebody would complain, but maybe they're just idiots. It's an excellent app, and please keep the great updates coming.

Do we really need all these social network features? I think they take up all this space on the app and they open doors for way more problems. Shazam should just souly be based on finding a song you don't recognize by tapping on the button. The social networking friend features are annoying and really not in use. When it pops up on Facebook or Twitter It's looked as SPAM anyway. Also there are big fixes every week that's a problem.

Awesome app. I miss some relevant musics, like classical and gospel that missed on files to recognize.

People DO NOT WANT the app to tag TV shows. I know what I'm watching! The reason I open the app is I don't know what I'm listening to! The music in broadcast feature simply doesn't cut it because it doesn't stretch to commercials and is usually incomplete. Please, at the very least, give us a setting to disable TV tagging, and this review will go back to the 5 stars it deserves.

Bring back auto-run feature so it will start listening immediately when App is opened!

I know people complain about some missing features. Sure streaming lyrics would be nice to have, but hey I'm quite impressed with the accuracy and speed of this app. I tried a few different ID apps side by side... for quickly identifying songs, this seems to be one of the best. So after trying out the free version, I paid for this one and deleted the rest.

I love this app!:) but I lyric play was still available & you could access history of the song (i.e. release date, first album released on, etc)

Not sure what has happened to this app. It no longer has lyrics or album info and these are two features I used A LOT. I believe I have actually bought this app twice - not sure what happened there either, but very frustrated. It just no longer does what I paid for it to do. Very disappointed! By the way...."streaming lyrics" is still advertised on the App Store page, but it really doesn't have that feature anymore. False advertising! AND.... what in the world is Shazam Red? Another version I should buy?! Nope!

Shazam needs to bring back the feature that automatically goes straight to the tagging of the song on startup! That is what the whole app is about I shouldn't have to think about it. The television show feature is weak and doesn't work. Go back to the more simple versions.

It is a fun app & knows so many types of music. Amazing. Love to use it as a passenger in the car. Kinda like a game.

Update 5.5.2 does not work with an IPad 1( first version) which is limited to OS 5.1.1. I can NOT make the update go away no way to skip the update.

I have to admit that I agree with other users. This app USED TO BE awesome!! However, it seems to get worse and worse with each update. I used to be able to put in my email address and all my tags would synch to the Shazam website. If I switched phones, I simply need to login and all the tags would restore. However, that function was removed, only allowing Facebook login/share. No good for us that do not want to use FB to login or have different addresses. I opened TWO support tickets without any response. Major fail. I will now switch to Soundhound.

My older iPad will not update to 6.0 so I guess I'm screwed for future updates unless I buy a new iPad ( not happening any time soon) Make your updates to support all versions not just the latest and greatest.

I use Shazam because I want to know what song is playing, not what tv show I'm watching. The info button on my remote already does that. Now I have to figure out if the song I liked was 24 min into the episode or 28 min into the episode.

Everything was great before the upgrade. It made my money worth. Let's go back to the first version! Or the second!

You guys had a perfectly functioning application with a 99% accuracy. Since your updates, it is at about 40%. I hope your engineers or developers are working on a resolution for those of us who paid for this application and would like it to work as well as it did prior to your screwed up update. Please get off your butts and fix the problem or my colleagues and I will be looking for and recommending the competition. Regards, Bob

Making the new update iOS 6 exclusive is Idiotic. The update relates to the iOS 6 sharing tab feature with Facebook integration. Shazam, not all your users use Facebook let alone that feature. So why would you force all of us to upgrade to iOS 6 just for your update. Fix this now, and re-release the update so it supports everyone. Everyone should rate this app low to get their attention.

My iPod is less than 3 years old and there is no mechanism to move to the newer iOS. Will reconsider purchasing apps in the future that require the latest version. Loved the app until this limitation.

DO not update!! You will lose all tags placed after March 2012! To Shazaam: cease access to the current update before more lose tags. Really wish there was a way I could get all tags back. Your website did not help and is useless.

This used to be my favorite app and because of all the new updates, all it does it crash. I can't even tag a single song! This should NOT be happening since I paid 5.99 for this app!!!! FIX THIS!

I do love the Shazam app because I never know what a song it titled. However, I do not like that when watching a show I get the show title now instead of the song name. That's what hitting the guide button is for, I know what I'm watching I just want the song names.

on the ios6 phone this release freezes often and is generally very slow. on my ios5 phone it won't install because it needs ios6. WTH?? I won't "upgrade" to Apple Maps just for this. This is a truly moronic release.

Eh.. you should've waited for the 6.1 release at least. Since iOS 6 is running on iPhone 4's really unevenly and doesn't bring anything new and useful, I'm not going to update. I don't know if it was necessary to scrap iOS 5 support already with this more or less minor update.

Preview play of song doesn't work

Since the new update I have lost ALL my tags since October 17, 2011. Plus it is really slow, almost freezes when trying to use it. What's up with that? If you are going to do "UPDATES" then write them so they WORK!!! BAD JOB on the latest UPDATE!! :-( You are connected with Apple so get your stuff together! FIX the problems you have created!!!
